HOW TO APPLY FOR AT PLACE AT ST PETER’S

 

Starting School

 

Application for admission to our Reception Classes for September 2018 will open in Autumn 2017.

Open Days will be held on:

 

Wednesday 4th October 2017 9.30 - 11.30 am

Thursday 2nd November 2017 1.15 - 2.45 pm

Tuesday 14th November 2017 9.30 - 11.30 am

Monday 21st November 2017 6 - 7 pm

 

Please:

  1. Complete a Hampshire County Council Application Form, either online at www.hants.gov.uk/admissions or a paper copy can be obtained from the school.
  2. Complete a Supplementary Information Form  (see below or ask the school for a paper copy) to support your child’s application and return it to us with a baptism certificate or, if this is not available, ask your parish priest/ vicar to sign the form. If your child has not been baptised and does not regularly attend church you are still eligible to apply for a place at the school.

N.B, It is very important that forms are submitted by the cut-off date which is on 15th January 2017.

In-Year Applications

 

Admission to other Year Groups further up the school may be possible depending on pupil numbers. Please contact the school for an informal discussion. A Hampshire County Council Application Form and Supplementary Information Form will still need to be completed, but we are very happy to advise you on this process.

Appeals are managed by the governing body of the school. Please ask the school for a form.

Appeals timetable

In-year appeals

Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

September 2017 entry

For applications made in the normal admission round for Year R (starting school) in September 2017, appeals will follow the timetable below.

Appeals lodged after the deadline will be heard during the above dates if possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

For late applications, appeals will be heard within 40 school days from the deadline for appeals being lodged where possible, or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

After an appeal has been lodged, appellant’s wishing to submit additional paperwork must ensure that it is received by the panel administrator no later than 10 working days before the hearing. Evidence submitted after this date may not be considered.

The panel's decision

Appellants will usually be sent the outcome of their appeal within 5 school days of the appeal hearing. This may be longer for appeals where there are multiple appellants.
